What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is originally an Eastern medicinal approach that dates back thousands of years. Acupuncture assumes that the body’s self-healing ability strives for balance. Important symbols that play a role in this are Yin and Yang. They are each other’s opposites, but they also complement each other, in short they keep each other in balance. When your body is out of balance, you may need more from one or a little less from the other.

Acupuncture can steer the body’s self-healing capacity in the right direction by placing small needles on important meridians in the body. This stimulus causes the energy to flow again and the balance is restored. Placing the needles does not hurt, but can be sensitive in some places. Many people experience the treatment as pleasant and relaxing.
